How to Submit Off-Cycle Payroll Contributions

There are a few reasons you may need to make an off-cycle payroll contribution, including bonuses that are paid separately from regular payrolls or if you selected “No pay schedule” during onboarding.

Note: If you selected “No schedule,” then you will not be receiving reminders to submit your payroll contributions, and it will be your ongoing responsibility to stay on top of payroll contribution submissions. 

To submit an off-cycle contribution, begin by logging in to your employer portal. On your home page, you can see the list of your employees and their status, e.g., eligible, ineligible, active, pending, or opted-out. If you do not see an employee listed here, you may need to add the employee by clicking on the Add Employee button. Remember that employees must be added and employed for 30 days before becoming eligible for contributions.

Please follow the instructions below to submit your off-cycle contribution:

  1. Navigate to your “Contributions” dashboard by clicking the “Contributions” tab to the left of your home screen. 
  2. Click the Other Actions button. From the drop-down menu, select Off-Cycle Contribution to continue.
  • If you do not have a regular pay schedule, then you may click Start Contribution or Other Actions.

  1. Enter the pay date for this contribution, then select Continue.

  1. Select the Upload Payroll File button or manually enter the employee contribution dollar amount(s).

  1. Once everything has been entered, the Send & Validate button will change to blue, and you may click on it to proceed. If you see any of the fields highlighted in red, you will need to correct the information or delete unrecognized employees from this grid.

Note: Uploading can take several seconds; please be patient.

  1. Review your submission and then select "Complete Submission." You may also edit or cancel your submission.

  1. You will then have the option to click Back to Transactions and return to your “Contributions” dashboard, where you may view your transactions and their status.
  2. If you would like to view the full contribution details and status for one of your submissions, select the transaction date.

Note: If your submission status is “Processing,” you still have the opportunity to cancel it. Once the status is “Delivered,” you will no longer be able to make any changes. The processing step may take an hour (during regular business hours). We understand that last-minute changes may be needed. This window of time should provide you with the cushion you need to make those corrections.
